Otter's Chicken
Otter’s Chicken was started in 2003 in Nashville, TN by four entrepreneurs to offer fresh chicken served in a variety of ways. Brothers Talbott and Stuart Ottinger and Charlie Fitzgerald are all originally from Lafayette, LA, and their other partner Steve Logan met Stuart in college and was quickly convinced to join the other three founders to come up with a different type of chicken concept in Nashville, TN. Since then, the concept has been able to find “101 Ways to Eat Chicken and Counting” according to one of their slogans, and the results are a welcome addition to the typical fried chicken restaurant concept. At Otter’s, chicken tenders are served fried, grilled or buffalo style in box meals, sandwiches, wraps and on salads with six sauce offerings to tempt anyone’s taste buds, so everyone is sure to find their preferred menu choice. Otter’s also recently added wings to their ever expanding menu, and serves a unique and refreshing homemade chicken salad that the mother of the Ottinger brothers helped them create.
The fast casual concept also serves draft and bottled beer and is looking at adding margaritas and wine in the near future as well as a drive thru for those on the go and in a hurry. “We are definitely more than your typical fast food chicken restaurant” according to President, Talbott Ottinger. “We are a fast casual concept and bring food to customer’s tables after they order at the counter but we are always looking at ways to meet the needs of our customers."
Otter’s currently owns and operates four locations, three in the Nashville area and one in Lafayette, LA. In addition, Otter’s has two franchised locations open, one in Murfreesboro, TN and another in Breaux Bridge, LA with another under construction in Marietta, GA. Otter’s has plans to expand throughout the Southeast with an initial focus on areas within several hours of their corporate locations.
