At the eighth annual Beacon Awards, Performance Foodservice – Empire will be honored with an industry award for their contributions to the Miami-Dade County economy in the areas of job creation, business expansion, corporate citizenship and leadership. Empire, one of Performance Foodservice’s broadline distributors, delivers products to independent restaurants, multi-unit restaurants, cruise lines, resorts, domestic distributors and export distributors throughout Southern Florida, the Caribbean, Europe, Central America, and South America. Over the past year, Empire’s export team has grown its business by approximately 48% over prior year to date figures. Empire also supports the Miami-Dade County community through contributions to Camillus House and Feeding America, and sits on the boards for the National Fisheries Institute and the Better Seafood Board. It is this growth and commitment that contributed to The Beacon Council’s selection of Performance Foodservice – Empire for the Business Services industry category.
