Southern Sloppy Joe Dip

Directions

  1. Prepare the cheese spread: In a large bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, pimento, cayenne and garlic salt and hold for service.
  2. Prepare the Sloppy Joe mixture: In a large skillet cook the ground beef, onions and peppers until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender. Drain off the excess grease.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper and bring to a simmer.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  5. To order, place ¾ cup of the pimento cheese spread into the bottom of a prepared 2 cup oven proof dish. Top with ¾ cup of the Sloppy Joe mixture and then ¼ cup of shredded cheese.
  6. Bake the dip for 20 minutes or until heated through and the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve with chips for dipping.

  • 3 1/4 lbs beef, ground
  • 1 1/4 cup onion, diced
  • 1 1/4 cup pepper(s), green, diced
  • 2 1/2 cups Simply Heinz™ Ketchup
  • 2 1/2 tbsp sugar, brown
  • 1 1/4 tbsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups Kraft® Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
