With nearly two decades in the food industry, Sandy brings cultural insight, product expertise, and a deep love for Latin flavors to Performance Foodservice.

Sandy Acosta brings her Salvadoran roots and broad industry experience to Contigo®. “Coming from Salvadoran parents, my family is big on food and hospitality.” Over the years, she’s worn many hats in the foodservice industry. “I’ve had various roles from logistics to finance, sales, and purchasing. I was able to take many of those skills and apply them to this role.” Her cultural background and language skills have played a key part in her success. “Being bilingual, I’m able to negotiate with suppliers in Spanish and it’s helped me develop relationships in Mexico and other Latin American countries.”

The name Contigo, meaning “with you,” resonates deeply with her. “The word ties so well with Hispanic culture and guides how we develop products. We want our customers to experience quality and authenticity.”

One of her favorite products is the Contigo Birria Base, made by a minority-owned, family-run business in Arizona. “It’s super great quality and really authentic. Helping them grow is something special to me.”

She’s proud of the confidence Contigo gives operators. “We give operators full confidence that the ingredients we provide them are going to help them get those recipes the way grandma made them — that made-from-home feel.”

And above all, Sandy believes in honoring the full breadth of Latin culinary culture. “We do a really good job of representing Latin cuisine, culture, and ingredients, while being respectful of Latin America’s diversity. We care about sharing high-quality and authentic products, even before talking about price.”
