About Contigo Tostones
Contigo Tostones are made exclusively from the rare “Hawaiian style Plantain,” the world’s best cooking banana. The raw Plantain is peeled, sliced length-wise, diagonally, or width-wise, and then fried twice, individually quick frozen and bagged. Afterwards, they are pounded flat (or smashed) to provide larger plate coverage. The flattened plantain slices are then fried once again until they are crisp and golden brown. When served they might be topped with salt and eaten like a chip or served warm and topped with sauce, paste or black beans.
