October is National Pizza Month, which means you’ve got four weeks to celebrate the holy trinity of dough, sauce, and cheese. We’ve compiled a few ideas to boost revenue by throwing pizza parties all month long.

DIY Pizza Packs

To hop on the takeout and delivery trend, create a bundle of dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings that customers can make at home. Be sure to include thorough instructions, possibly even a link to a video that explains the process visually so that first-time pizza makers understand the steps that are needed. Pay attention to the packaging to make sure it’s both functional and reflective of your brand and encourage customers to post their creations on social media and tag you.

Partner with Pizza People

By joining forces with another restaurant, you increase the size of your audience. Consider holding a competition with another business to see who can sell more of a certain type of pizza. Or host a pizza-making competition with local tastemakers and media as the judges. The winner can choose a nonprofit to which the losing business can donate. Spread the word about your competition online and with local press.

Frequent Pie-er Card

Create a LTO punch card for customers to use every time they buy a pie or slice from your business and offer incentives when they hit a certain number. Incentives could include discounts, freebies, cool swag, and/or recognition online.

Pizza 101

Host pizza education opportunities throughout October. During the school day, invite a local elementary school class to learn about the history and science of pizza while playing with dough and getting messy! During evening service, you could host a pizza trivia night or a discussion with a chef, journalist, or cookbook author. Reach for the stars—thanks to Zoom, it’s easier than ever to get public figures to commit to events like these, and if your audience is big enough, they just might be willing to participate in a Q&A for your guests. If they’ve written a cookbook, buy a case of books to sell on-site.

Delivery Specials

Pizza is one of the all-time great delivery foods, and delivery is more popular than ever, so play up this aspect of your business with limited-time specials, including secret menu items, free treats (like free cookies with an order of a certain dollar amount), free delivery on slow days like Monday or Tuesday, or BOGO offers when customers order directly from you (as opposed to through a third-party website).
