Cheddar and Tomato-Jam Canapés


  1. In medium saucepan combine undrained tomatoes, brown sugar, vinegar, gingerroot and cinnamon.
  2. Cook and stir until mixture comes to boil and sugar dissolves.
  3. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, until mixture reduces to 1 cup. Remove from heat. Cool.  
  4. Place cheese on serving plate. Spoon tomato mixture over cheese. Serve with Salad Wafers. (Or, thinly slice cheese. Top each salad wafer with cheese slice and some of tomato mixture.)


  • 8 oz. cheese, cheddar, sharp
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
  • 1 Tbsp. ginger, root, grated fresh
  • 64 Heritage Ovens® Wafers, Salad
  • 1/4 cup sugar, brown, firmly packed
  • 1 tomato(es), chili-style diced can(s) 14.5 oz.
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar, apple cider
