English Muffin Cheeseburger
English Muffin Cheeseburger
Directions
- Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet. Wipe down cooking area with olive oil. Set to medium-high heat.
- In a mixing bowl combine the ground beef, salt, pepper and oregano. Mix well. Divide into four portions and form into burger patties. Sauté the burgers over medium-high heat on each side for 4 – 4 ½ minutes per side.
- Mix the cheese until well blended. Add the ricotta last to bind all cheeses together.
- Peel, stem and core the pears and slice into thin chips.
- Right before the burgers are done place a large scoop of the cheese mixture on top of each burger. Flatten with a spatula and cover the burger to melt the cheese. Serve the burger on a toasted English muffin, with a few slices of pear on top of the melted cheese. Sprinkle with the ground walnuts.
