Spiced Omelet Cuban
Directions
- Slice Cuban bread/baguette into 4 pieces, then cut each in half lengthwise.
- Spread maple mustard sauce on both cut sides of bread.
- Layer each sandwich with ham, bacon, spiced omelet, Swiss cheese and dill pickles.
- Heat panini press or heavy skillet with butter over medium.
- Press sandwiches until bread is golden and crisp, cheese is melted and fillings are hot, around 4-5 minutes.
- Slice diagonally and serve hot.
Ingredients
- 12 oz. Smithfield® Ham, thinly sliced
- i slices Smithfield® Bacon, cooked crisp
- 1 loaf bread, Cuban or baguette, cut into 4 portions
- 8 slices cheese, Swiss
- 8 to 12 pickles dill, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp. butter, softened
Maple Mustard Sauce
Directions
- In small bowl, whisk spicy brown mustard, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce and pinch of salt and thyme until smooth.
- Adjust to taste.

- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- salt, to taste
- thyme, fresh, to taste
Spiced Omelet
Directions
- Whisk eggs with paprika, dry mustard, coriander, turmeric, black pepper and salt until smooth.
- Heat olive oil or butter in nonstick pan over medium heat.
- Pour in egg mixture and cook as thin omelet, without folding. Cook until just set, then fold into flat rectangle that fits sandwich size. Cut into 4 equal portions.
