Brat with Bourbon Onions and Grain Mustard


  1. Cook bratwurst on medium heat area of the grill until lightly charred.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat add butter, garlic, salt, pepper, and onions. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in bourbon and be cautious of a flame. Let bourbon simmer and recue by half. Fold in honey then reserve.
  4. Place a portion of onions on warm buns then top with charred brat and finish with spicy brown mustard.


  • 4 ea West Creek® bratwurst
  • 4 ea Heritage Ovens® hot dog bun
  • 2 ea Peak Fresh Produce® Onion(s), Yellow, large dice
  • 1/4 cup West Creek® Spicy Brown Mustard
  • 2 tbsp West Creek® Honey
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 2 tbsp Nature's Best Dairy® Butter, Unsalted
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/8 tsp Roma® Black Pepper, Ground
